【DETAILS】

Our unique walking tour will take you to historical landmarks and sites in Hiroshima while a local English-speaking guide explains the history and stories behind them. The first stop for both the weekday and weekend routes is the Peace Memorial Museum, dedicated to conveying the realities of the atomic bombing.

The second stop is the Peace Park, a spacious green sanctuary in the center of Hiroshima City established to honor the victims of the bombing with a strong desire for lasting world peace. The Peace Memorial Park is home to the Atomic Bomb Dome (a World Heritage Site), the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, the Children’s Peace Monument, the Peace Bell, and other monuments. Our guides will give you an in-depth explanation as you walk through the park grounds, followed by a visit to a school building which survived the bombing just outside of Peace Memorial Park.

Finally, we will end our day at Orizuru Tower. Built with the ideals of revival and the future, the Orizuru Tower is a shining beacon of the hope for Hiroshima. From the rooftop observatory, you’ll catch a bird’s eye view of the entire cityscape as our guide explains various landmarks and sights of our modern city. Despite being reduced to nothing but rubble and ash, Hiroshima has risen like the Phoenix to transform into a lush and thriving city, complete with dazzling riverways and greenery giving way into mountains and forests. High atop the Orizuru Tower, you’ll be enchanted by the picturesque panorama of our city. Top the day off by making some origami paper cranes and watch them float down from the top of the tower to join the hundreds of others in a prayer for peace.
