【STORY】
Shiodomari River is the mainstream of the second-class Shiodomari River system that flows through Hakodate City in Hokkaido and empties into the Tsugaru Strait.
As a protected river, it hosts a variety of creatures such as fish, birds, deer, and other wildlife. Depending on the season, you can witness various facets of the Shiodomari River; in autumn, you might see fall foliage and salmon swimming upstream.
◆ Spring: Enjoy cherry blossoms while drifting down the river. The water flow is slightly higher than usual in spring.
◆ Summer: Swim, splash around and enjoy the water to bring yourself closer to nature. Sunset tours around July to September are recommended.
◆ Autumn: Descend the river amidst autumn foliage and observe salmon swimming upstream through underwater viewing glasses.
◆ Winter: Witness many migratory birds, including white-tailed eagles and swans. Photography enthusiasts enjoy canoeing tours against the snowy backdrop.

-If the water level of the river exceeds safety standards, the activity will be canceled. In such a case, we will contact you by phone by 10:00 AM the day before.
・If the tour is canceled due to inclement weather, we will notify you at the earliest the day before, and at least 2 hours before the time of the experience on the day of the tour.
・In the event of inclement weather, the location of the tour may be changed to Lake Onuma (40 minutes from Hakodate City).

-When heading to the Shiodomari River from the Hakodate area, the Seiko-Mart Zenikamezawa store is the final point for any last-minute shopping before the meeting point. Please finish your errands there before coming.
-For those arriving by car, please park at the edge of the fishing port to avoid causing inconvenience to the local fishermen.
-There are no changing facilities on-site, so please come dressed in attire that can get wet.
-You can leave your belongings in the car at the endpoint.
