Enjoy the beautiful landscape of the port town Tomonoura and the most spectacular natural landscape of Japan. This town is often used in films like the Ghibli movie  ‘Ponyo’. This is a premium experience where you will go to places only accessible by sea kayak.

○Route Example 1

●Bentenjima Island

There is a tori gate standing on the coast. The view from the sea shares a close resemblance to the World Heritage site Itsukushima shrine. 

●Sensuijima Island1lap

Sensuijima island is an island which remains almost untouched by humans; the unspoiled landscape of the Seto Island sea still remains. We will make one lap around the island. You can see things like the breathtaking nature and, sometimes, a fish jumping out of the sea. 


○Route Example 2

●Abuto Kannon Temple

You can see the beautiful temple, Abuto Kannon, which seems to protrude from the sea because of the way it’s built. If the sea level permits, we will go on land and see it up close. It's famous for safe childbirth prayers and it's decorated with a lot of tablets in the shape of breasts.

●Sensuijima Island

While passing through some small islands on the way, let's go to Sensuijima island. 


○Return to the Port

Go back to Tomonoura by sea kayak.

    From Hiroshima station with the shinkansen and bus: 1 hour 15 min.
    From 'Fukuyama station' on JR Lines: take the Tomotetsu bus (to Tomo, 37 min) and get off at Tomo-kou. Walk for 3 minutes.
    Walk for 180 meters in a southwestward direction near the Prefectural Highway 22 along the seashore and turn left at the intersection. On your left side you will find the Kayaker's Cafe.
    *It's is also possible to come with a free shuttle bus from Fukuyama station. In that case the meeting place will become Fukuyama station.
